Basic Sketch

Every Month Basicgrey sends me a "Basic Sketch." I think that this is a really cool idea, and i thought i would share one of the latest ones with you!

This month the theme was "Boxing in" your page,--Using Journaling, titles, and embellishments to create a border off The edge of the page. "Boxing In" Draws the eye inside the page, immediately to the photo to the right of your story.

Basicgrey also gives three to four examples of how their designers used recent lines to create this look.

In the first layout (pink) they used the new line called Sultry. In the second layout they used the new Archaic line. In the third layout the line Cupcake is being shown. And last but not least, the forth layout shows the line called Boxer.

I found this idea in my BASICGREY newsletter! And I thought it was ADORABLE so I decided to teach you how to make your own!

Materials needed:
(Basicgrey)
*Sugared Paper
*Sugared Rub-ons
*Sugared Glazed Brads
*Sugared Fibers
*Sugared Chip Sticker Shapes
*Sugared Buttons
*Sugared Alpha Stickers
*Sugared Element Stickers
*Sugared Too Sweet Stamps
(Other)
*Paper Flower
*Acrylic Paint
*Brown Ink
*Tea-dyed Cheesecloth
*Canvas

Instructions:

1. Paint Canvas with a mixture of light brown and beige paint. Ink all edges with brown ink.

2. Cut Tender paper to 7”x8” and adhere ½” form the bottom of the left corner.

3. Cut the Loved paper to 3” x 7½” and attach ¾” from the left side.

4. Cut Precious paper to 3”x 9½” and lay across the bottom of the canvas.

5. Cut Darling Paper to 1¼” x 7 ¾” and ¾” x ½”. Attach long strip over Loved and Precious paper. Use small piece to attach in the top right corner AFTER Endeared Paper is secured (see next step)

6. Cut Endeared paper to 2½” x 5”. Stamp Title and Attach alphabet stickers.

7. Cut three green squares from Delightful paper and center on the right side of Precious paper. Add two glazed brads as shown.

8. Mat 4” x 6” photo and wrap fiber around. Punch a hole in chip sticker heart and tie through knot with crochet cotton. Secure tea-dyed cheesecloth behind mat and attach to canvas.

9. Referring to photo: finish embellishing with element stickers, button, flower with metal clip and rub-ons.
