Hallowhimsy: Haunted House Book

Halloween is around the corner!! And i'm sure we all are busy getting the kids costumes ready, and decorating the house! But why not take a moment and create a fun way to remember all!!

Well here is an ADORABLE project, that will look super cute around the house! Its a project created by Imaginisce using their Hallowhismy line!

Happy Hallowhimsy!! Advent Calander

Hey Readers!!

Wow it’s been a while since I last blogged, and I apologize!! I could give you millions of excuses but i'm sure you could name most of them :) lol..

So I thought id come back with a BANG!! This project is FABULOUS!! I fell in love with the concept and cuteness of this project!! It’s something fun to make, and fun to use! Plus those of you with kids, will have a blast counting down the days till Halloween with them!

I love how Imaginisce can come up with some of the cutest things I’ve ever seen! And let’s face it.. Their Hallowhimsy line is genius :) I absolutely love everything about the line! The paper is fabulous and the embellishments are even better!!!

We all love our Christmas/Holiday Advent calendars.. So duh, why not have one for Halloween?? The one holiday that kids love more than their parents!! Lol.. This advent calendar is a fun way to get yourself or your family ready for October 31st!! A picture of the finished project is at the bottom!

You will need the following supplies:

·       Bump in the night epoxy brads

·       Rest In Pieces Glitter chipboard stickers

·       Rub-ons
~Boos & Tattoos
~Bat Scratch
~Transylvania Transfers

·       Spellbound alphabet stickers

·       Hallowhimsy patterned paper
~Choose 2 of your favorite

·       3 sheets of: Eat, Drink, And be Scary

·       2 sheets of: Eeks and Shrieks

·       Cardboard panels (from a box)

·       Bazzill Cardstock (5 black, 1 orange, 1 yellow, 1 brown)

·       2 sheets of 12X12 Chipboard

·       2 plastic laminating sheets

·       Hole punch

·       Wire

·       Ink Pads
~brown & Black

·       3" circle Punch

·       2" Square Punch

·       Self-adhesive Velcro
~a 1/2" piece for every day

·       Liquid adhesive

·       About 8 inches of orange ribbon

·       office supply envelope

How to make the Calendar:

1.   Prepare Cardboard. Cut 4 pieces of cardboard (2 - 8"x12" & 2 - 12"x12") to create a distressed look, peel away the top layer of cardboard around the edges. Using a black and/or brown ink pad brush ink around the edges of the cardboard.

2.   Cut a sheet of black cardstock a little smaller than the cardboard background (two center panels are approx. 11&1/2" x 11&1/2" and the front and back panels are 11&1/2" x 8") and adhere.

3.   TITLE PANEL: STEPS 3-6
Download haunted house art at
www.imaginisce.com (pg. 3 of the pdf) print out and trim around the edges leaving a yellow mat.

4.   Using a 3" circle punch, and yellow cardstock, punch out a circle for the moon. Place bats and pumpkin rub-ons (don’t forget to decorate inside of the door and windows!)

5.   Cut a ragged, scraggly tree from brown cardstock.

6.   Adhere spellbound letter stickers to orange cardstock, cut around the letters leaving a 1/8" orange mat around them, then adhere.

7.   CENTER PANELS: STEPS 7-12:
Cut 2 sheets of Imaginisce "Eeks and Shrieks" orange pattern paper (aprox. 11"x11") and adhere to the clack cardstock.

8.   Using a 2" square punch and Imaginisce "Eat, Drink and be Scary" (cobweb side), punch 30 squares and cut one double the sixe for the 31st (4&1/2" x 2")

9.   Put laminating sheets on the plain chipboard sheets and then adhere the punched squares to the other side (the chipboard will be sandwiched between the laminating sheets and the patterned paper) and cut each of the squares out.

10. Using a black ink pad, ink the edges of each squares out.

11. The fun part! Decorate each day using chipboard stickers. Letter sticks, rub-ons and strips of Imaginisce paper.

12. Cut a piece of Velcro fro each day. Place each piece on the panels in its appropriate spot.

13. ENVELOPE PANEL: STEPS 12-17
Decorate the office supply envelop using pattern paper, stickers, rub-ons, and/or ribbon.

14. Adhere to black background.

15. Add your favorite patterned paper inside the flap.

16. Cut a small piece of Velcro for the envelope closure and place an epoxy brad on top of the cardstock where Velcro is placed.

17. Punch two holes on each cardboard panel at the top and bottom of each side. Thread wire through the holes and twist to finish off ends.

18. ENJOY your Spooky countdown!!
